Magu made this statement at the passing out parade of 281 cadets of the EFCC Detective Inspector Course-5, at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, Kaduna State.
The event was also attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna State Governor and Kebbi State Governor.
According to Magu, “We have zero tolerance to corruption in the EFCC. Tackling corruption is a clarion call although corruption is a huge burden to the nation. It has spread to all facets of our lives. Corruption is the biggest strategy (sic) to humankind. Your Excellency, corruption is worse than all the diseases now running about. And I strongly believe, Your Excellency, that even the coronavirus is caused by corruption”.
Magu also stressed that corruption is a huge burden to Nigeria and it has inflicted the country with major setbacks and social problems.
